Hello,
I am in the process of building my first brand new computer. i already have the motherboard, power supply, ece selected. the problem is the power supply is only 350 watt. the processor is an am3 sempron, so I need a video card that cost only about 150, and only has a single 6 or 8 pin connector. Any suggestions? i prefer ATI to NVIDIA

HD 5670 is a good card that will run on a 350w power supply. It doesn't require any external power connector. If it's a high quality 350w (unlikely at that rating) then you could probably run a 5770 but I would stick with the 5670 if it's generic.

For general help in upgrading a video card, you might look at this site:

http://www.upgradevideocards.com/index.html

With reference to the previous post, the "Criteria" tab shows how to get relevant power supply information off the label on the PSU.

The website also has some good information on using THG guides such as this one on the best video cards for different budget levels (in case you are not aware of it):

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/best-graphics-card,2964.html

or the video card charts

http://www.tomshardware.com/charts/graphics-cards,1.html

This info might help your general understanding of cards and supplements but does not replace the system specific advice given here.
