Why the hell would you want one toll that does many things adequately when a
couple will do the job really well?

Peter is right. Even recent reviews for many of these "all-in-one" devices
show that some of the functions are compromises when you could much better
results by buying a regular printer and regular scanner, for example.
Inevitably I think these things have compromises in them and the user is
disappointed. I was, for instance.

I'm with the Information Resources group at a University. We did a
two year study of over a 1000 printers on campus of all sorts and
manufactures and the group of printers having the most problems and
requiring the most service calls and support were the "all in one
printers". We now will not approve them and are working to phase
them out of service.
Get a device designed to do one job and do it well.

I agree, the modern trend to have a mobile with camera, doesn't suit me.I
have a cheap simple mobile (75 euro) and a separate camera.Also, I have a
different drill, power screwdriver and power chisel, while a plumber I know
has a drill all-in-one, which is a disappointment.

Yes, I get sick of people saying things like, "I spent $1,500 on my new
Canon 20D and want to do some printing at home.... Should I get the $49.95
or the $59.99 printer"? Grrrrrr, some people are just too stupid for me.
