I'm short of budget so i want to make a good choice, now i have a pentium D!!! because my intel core 2 duo E8200 die!!!, so i want to make a significant upgrade.

I search in this forums and another pages to find the perfect cpu for my budget, and i find the amd 955 be, 960t, 970 and 980 can you tell wich is better.

If you have suggestions you are wellcome :), i want to use this for gaming, adobe master collection, 3d software in windows 7 ultimate 64 bits.

Thanks, but how do I know if the mobo that i choose can unlock the 960T?

Another thing, I'm upgrading from core 2 duo, so the fx 4100 0r 6000 is a good choice? or the 960T is better?

List of processors the GA-M68MT-S2 supports.95W only btw
http://www.gigabyte.com/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=3645
I'd look for a better mobo with 125W cpu support = not the place to chintz out imo.
CM psu's are crappy btw,you have to move up to Silent Pro series for anything decent.
You don't require anything near a 700W psu for your specs.
A quality 500W would be fine.

Personally i'd buy a mobo that supports the latest processors.
I'm not saying buy this particular mobo, just giving you an idea of what newer boards support.

davcon, now I will buy a $100 mobo like you say, the mobo's that you and marco324 put in your answer are much better that the one i choose, but wich do you recomend me more?

another thing, can I unlock the 960t with that mobo? and if the fx 6100 price drops(because i'm wainting for january), it will be a better choice?

(sorry for my english :) )

Thanks for your time!!

I'll be honest i'm an Intel guy and have never run an AMD platform.
Yes i think you're better off with an @$100 mobo.
I've always run Gigabyte boards and never had any problems.
Love the Dual bios feature(hard to mess up bios flash) and hefty pcb construction(UD),all mine are very good overclockers.
Bought one MSI mobo and it's not in the same league even though all the boards were around the same $100 mark.
This link is helpful for cpu comparisons.

I think if you shop around for an Asus or Gigabyte mobo you'll be fine.
Read up on web reviews and select some boards within your budget and compare the features on Newegg.= pretty handy for feature comparisons
