I have a decent little laptop, with a better CPU could run all the games I play. Looking for one on the cheap that fits.

Info: Acer Aspire 5517
Current Processor: AMD Athlon 64X2 Dual Core TK-42

Im looking for something that puts me above 2.0ghz.

Thanks for your help, if you need more info let me know.

Ignore 'amufin', you can upgrade laptop cpu's and in some cases the gpu's as well. Mind you it is sometimes not an easy task to complete.

You can upgrade the CPU in the 5517, there are plenty of video's on youTube if you are not sure how too.

The CPU in the 5517 is an AMD Socket S1g1 I believe, so any TL-5x/TL-6x CPU should be fine but watch out for the TDP of the higher clocked CPU's as yours is only a 20W and they go up to 35W I think, so cooling may become an issue. I think the highest CPU speed you can get is a 2.2HGHz x2 but check with AMD before you buy.
