Network Card keeps installing itself

I currently have a Linksys wireless network card installed on my computer, but I've left it disabled for a while now since I access the internet through a cable.

However, today my wireless card started going haywire and it keeps installing itself over and over and over again, causing my computer to be totally unusable because it freezes every time it reinstalls the card. I finally realized it wasn't going to let up and turned off the computer after it installed itself 40 times.

The simple solution is just to open up the computer and remove the unused card, but before I do that I want to know if anyone has any idea what's going on. I couldn't find any answers on google.

My first guess would be the card went bad. Try it in another computer if you can.
