Would this build be enough for D3/Dota2 and maybe BF3?

Solution
Your main concern should actually be the Diablotek PSU. The rest of it is fine for gaming on a budget.... though the 6770 may struggle in some titles at higher resolutions.
Also, a 2 TB HDD is also way more than you need for gaming.

Probably best to go AMD at that budget

This gets you everything including the OS, with an adequate PSU and very upgradeable board... and a quad core CPU that can be overclocked.

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM
Seagate Barracuda ST500DM002 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive
GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
GIGABYTE GV-R677D5-1GD Radeon HD 6770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1...

Thank you for your useful reply.
Thing is I kind of want to go Intel because my friend said that AMD was going out of business or something.
But would this build work well for the up and coming new games in the next few years?

Well first off, AMD is not going out of business anytime soon unless your friend knows something the rest of us dont.

Second thing is the processor that Prox linked is also bundled with Windows 7, which is why its more expensive, but that is a damn good bundle.

I quite like the build Prox linked as it will definitely perform well enough on the recent/upcoming games. It will by no means play them on max settings, but it wont require the lowest settings either.

Yeah I really like his build. I'm just not sure about the graphics card. Is it decent? I can always upgrade the graphics card in the near future correct?

6770 is a mainstream card, basicalyl the same as the old 5770 with a few tweaks, It'll be a solid gamer at 1600x900 or similar resolutions on high/ultra, or at 1920x1080 on medium/high settings of most games.

the CPU is also good, especially if you overclock, but the board will allow you to update to Bulldozer, which will be even better.

If you can afford $40 more, an HIS HD6850 at $149.99 will be a stronger card

I have nothing against the Intel dual core you originally listed, and it's only something like $30 more than the AMD after the promo code.

The problem comes when you look at the motherboard. You are just getting a lot more for the dollar with that one.

Bah I'm like torn between which build to get...
I like the AMD build more because of the way better components.
But I only like the Intel build just for the i3.

Between these 2 processors which one is better? And is it a huge difference?

Also would I be able to switch out the memory you listed above with http://www.microcenter.com/single_product_results.phtml?sku=168237? Does it make a difference.

Ahh sorry for all these noob questions... :(

And I think I'll dish out the $40 more. It would help my gaming experience greatly right?

Thank you Prox. I'll be building my computer around your build <3
But I can also get a better video card right? Would it have to be a specific one?
As ScrewySqrl mentioned the HIS HD6850 would be a stronger card and it's also compatible with my mobo?
