Even a 5750/5770 would be bottlenecked by the cpu.

Figured as much. Maybe just upgrade to the 4890 and look into buying a new computer.

No offence to other posters but I somewhat cring when I hear people worry so much about CPU bottleneck. If you plan to buy/build a new PC then go ahead (Assuming PSU can handle it) and purchase a good mid range card even with a bottle neck you will get major gains in the games you play. With your current card if you say able to get only 20fps on a game change to mid range card may give you easly 30-50fps and sure with a better cpu maybe you would have seen increase of 50-70fps but there still a major improvement and when you get a new pc you always put that mid range card in the PC.

4000 series or 5000 series or any series won't matter, it's all about the performance. The 4890 is near the 5770 and would create the same bottleneck assuming there is one. But I'd have to say there would not be a bottleneck with a 5770 depending on the games being played and the res. But more importantly your pc only has a 300w psu and you would need to upgrade that as well if you wanted to go to a 5770.

Actually have updated power supply to 500 w. Like your thinking. Will try the 5770, if no good will have an extra card for new hard ware. Not really having any problems with the games I am currently playing. Crysis, Dragon Age, Borderlands... Just greedy.
