I noticed after using my asus amd 6970 that the gpu and memory clock were being stuck at 800/1375while playing games, with video playback running the background. The video playback by itself would make the card run at 500/1375 but when I would load a game, the max setting of the card would only go up to 800/1375.
I tried changing the clock values but it had no effect.And after testing the settings I found that it would run at full stock setting (890-1375) when there was no video playback going on in the background and only when the card was idle at 250mhz.I was wondering if this was normal for this card or if mine is defective.
