Running more than one GPU on one motherboard

i use hd 5770 redeon and now i have bought quadro 600, can i use both in one motherboard ...and does it make any defferent

would be very hard if not impossible
I have run more than one card but they were both nvidia cards
(7600gs and FX 5500)
running the quadro (nvidia) with the 5770 (amd) would more than likely cause
driver conflicts
using both cards from the same company can work but I dont think an ATI and a Nvidia card will "play nice together"

that was on an old Dell Precision 450 Dual Xeon Workstation I had
one was AGP and one was PCI
so that was older tech
