A freind of mine is buying a new 570 and is wondering if he can use his 285 as a physics card. I cannot find any info so I thought I would ask you guys. Thanks in advance.

Yes he can, though make sure he has a large enough power supply to run both of these cards.

A 285 is way overkill for physics, but that just means you'll be using a little more power/heat than necessary is all.

Ok, thanks. I suppose it is better than just discarding the old 285.
