Aid in suggesting video card

Forum Graphics & Displays : Graphics Cards Aid in suggesting video card

Unsure if I need an additional video card, or if what I already have can be used. Let me explain...I have new, AMD a8-3859 with mobo ASUS F1A75-V PRO. I know there is ample enough graphics for watching movies, for 1 t.v, but unsure if I can somehow splite this 1 hdmi signal, off to another t.v. and yet be able to watching something totally different? If not, then I'll need an additional video card (that has hdmi and d-sub) My new system will be able to watch at least 2 different t.v's, as well as being able to watch 2 different video's (not cable or satellite) at the same time....i.e. hulu video on one t.v. and say a VLC recorded movie on the other t.v. Maybe any card would work, but I need to ask the professionals, before I go out on a limb. This is the last item that I need, beside an internal blue ray player. Thank you for steering my in the right direction...DM
(possibly Evga GT430 or GT520? They both mention the support of 3D, which I see as a plus, and is a easy price)

You don't need a new card at all.Your mobo is fully equipped, as the A8 series chips are built specificly for media PC's.

If your just wanting to watch one thing on one monitor and another on a diffrent monitor from 1 gpu all you do is setup the settings in Windows.

"Right click" on your desktop and select "Screen Resoultion" then set the desktop to whichever minitor you want to use as the primary. When you have media playing just drag the application onto the other screen and maximize it and your done.

Your mobo has a Mini-HDMI and a regular HDMI port so you should be able to use those. If your using a monitor as one of the screens use the DVI port.

in my user book for mobo, under dual display table, it states dvi+hdmi is not suported. with that said, I should have made something else clear, I'm using this pc as a regular home pc, hence using a monitor, so one of my options is used up, the vga. so i don't see another possibility, other that another card. plz correct me is i'm wrong, and let's continue on finding me a card. thx for the reply

just looking at the back pnl configuration (and the book graph) and it shows a display port. it sorta looks like a larger hdmi port. is this what you may be speaking of? otherwise i'm still unsure how this will work. if would work, i'd have to find some sorta adaptor. i'll keep snooping

Hmm.Well I did some more research on this APU and it does clearly state that 2 monitors are able to run off of a single APU,like the one you have.

"The IGP will provide support for two monitors and all common connectors will be supported including HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort and DSUB (VGA)."

You don't absoulety need another graphics card but if you really feel it's nessesary I can point you in the right direction. The A8 series APU has very good crossfire performance with it's sister card.

Have you even tryed using 2 monitors at once?Or wha your whole problem that you want to run 3 displays at once?

Exactly how many screens are you trying to use at once? You don't make this clear.

If you do need to upgrade for anything, you might want to get a card that complements your APU. http://www.amd.com/us/products/tec [...] ics.aspx#3 There's a table.

Lets try to stick to one topic at a time.I'm pretty sure the OP doesn't need to add another card but lets be sure first. We need to know where were at before we starting exploring other options.

sorry, didn't get another email of any replies to this, other that today. it is 3 displays i am after....pc monitor, and 2 different tv's. i since got a gt 520 silent card. this should handle any other concerns of my dilema. case closed
