I7 2600k config

Hi everyone,

Planning to pick up the following. plz let me know of changes that would be better. Am a full time photographer and would be doing quite a bit of video editing as wel.

I7 2600k Processor.
Asus Z68 Motherboard - P8z68 M Pro
8 gb Ram DDR3 Corsair FSB
800w SMPS _ Corsair

I am confused with the graphics card. Should I go for the GTX580/570 or the AMD Radeon 7970?

Nvidia has CUDA which seriously accelerates video decoding. With that, stick with Nvidia. A GeForce GTX 460 would be sufficient from what I've been suggested for this very thing - video editing. I don't know if AMD has something similar to CUDA though.

The i7-2600K is great as it allows for extreme overclocking with the right cooling setup. The hyper 212 plus is making it very difficult for my CPU to get above 55C under load at 4 GHz. Just make sure you have a suitable case for it though.

Thanks.... I think that would help me bring down the overall budget also.

Am not looking at over clocking and all.. so i was told that the I7-2600 should be good. true?
