The way the pins are arranged and designed make them less prone to be bent because I think they are a bit flexible and they are lying down a bit.
The reason I asked this is because I installed a new heatsink and in the process I removed the CPU from the socket in order to clean it properly.
After I was done assembling the computer back together, one ram slot is not functioning properly. The computer will not boot if there is memory installed.

Here are my guesses:

Is the new CPU cooler touching any part of the motherboard or RAM, including any heatsinks? That can create a short.

Did you unplug your PSU from the wall when you were inside your computer?

Did you touch any of the power wires inside and maybe one became loose?

Did your hand slip and hit anything accidentally?

Did you ground yourself by touching the case (I doubt you didn't ground yourself)?

Dust may have gotten into the socket while you were cleaning the CPU. You'd have to remove it to find out, in which case you can also look for bent pins.

Edit: Did you use electrically conductive thermal paste? You may have spilled some next to the CPU socket and created a short.
