i just bought a new gigabyte ga-ep35-dsr motherboard, never opened, the guy stated he had it as a backup, and never needed it...

okay....i bought a e6550 cpu the other day....but will upgrade cpu,s,,,,,,should i get something like the e8500, e8600,,,or go with a quad

i know i can get a i5 cpu for the same price allmost,,,but my ram and motherboard are new..so i am going to stick with this generation

The C2D E6550 is nice little cpu, but clock speed a little low, the C2D E8600 Wolfdale E0 Stepping 65w 3.33Ghz is my choice for gaming.

If you need more cores then C2Q Q9650 Yorkfield E0 95w 3.Ghz is a good choice.

Make sure motherboard is using BIOS F4 or later and put a small fan on the main chipset heatsink, can get a little toasty.
