My1GB 2Rx8 PC2-5300U-555-12 is not working

Help my RAM 1gb 2Rx8 PC2-5300U-555-12 is not working with my acer motherboard.
i have another 1gb RAM in the motherboard but when i inserted 2Rx8 PC2-5300U-555-12 and after restarting my computer my memory is still 1gb..
what could have caused this? thanks..

by the way, the brand is Hynix Korea 03..not samsung

What make/model is the working module and does it have 8 or 16 chips? Did you verify that both slots are working?
