Photoshop CS5 + i5-2500k

Hi everyone, I've just finished my new build mostly for photo editing with CS5.
Here is my system specs:

I5-2500k OCed to 4GHz @1.212v (stable with P95 for more than 4 hours, idle 22-26C, max load 56C)
Motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z68XP-UD3P
Corsair Force 90GB SSD
GSkill 8GB (2x4GB) cas7 Dual Channel
HIS Radeon HD6770 Turbo
PSU OCZ ModXStream Pro 600w
1920x1080 SonyTV for monitor

As to my understanding is that Photoshop renders image using CPU power. But why it loads and renders kind of slow in Liquify Filter pane on large image (~16MP or >)? Am I missing something here? Please, any Photoshop Expert with PC knowledge would like to help me out on this?
