Hi Everyone,

Any input is useful just try to keep it informative :)

6970 definitely better in terms of pure performance. also i believe 6970 CF have more OC headroom than 6990.

Thanks for your input, I was thinking about getting CF 6970's for the money as for the price of 2 I can buy 1 6990. Is the performance much better or just by a small amount?

^6970s are ~10% faster than 1 6990 and they are also quieter

SWEET! On A maxed out Crysis 2 how much FPS would I expect to get? I have been looking on Google and not found any articles. Im glad I asked this question because I was on getting the 6990.

There are 6990 and 6970/6950 CF reviews around, go check them out.

Generally, 6970 CF will perform better and quieter than 6990, as 6990 is a jet engine.

i heard that there was CF issue with crysis 2. one of the most popular is flickering screen when run the game in CF mode. not sure if this problem already being resolve in patch or AMD driver or not but you can check mycrysis forum regarding that matter

I have seen a few videos but only show a clear 30FPS I guess I will look around again. I have heard from nearly all reviews though that the thing sounds like a Jet Engine so I guess I am pretty happy with the 6970 and wait until the 6990 comes down.

so did you plan to go for 6990 + 6970 in CF?

I would recommend 6950 2GB crossfire, it scales very well, and also will be cheaper.

I didn't think of that but even so it would be 750 pounds where as 2 6970's would only be 500 pounds so I don't think it would be worth it

Yeah 2 or 3 people have said that to me who I spoke to but surely they are not better than CF 6970's?

I meant to say 1920 but for some reason it would not let me edit. I want 6950 or above because at least I ill be set a while and I want to play on absolute maximum graphics.

if you care for the budget then get 6950 in CF. if not straight ahead to 6970 in CF. i know plenty people opted for GTX580 in SLI even they only play with one 1080p monitors
July 22, 2011 12:49:05 PM

Yeah I don't care much for my budget but I just can't justify paying for 1 6990 when I can get 2 6970's with a better performance, you agree?

cards such as 6990 will never be able to beat 6970 in CF even though they used the very same chip. too many engineering challenge just to make that two chip to work on a single PCB.

One 6970 will be enough unless your going to add more monitors
July 22, 2011 4:13:16 PM

Gnomio, or if you plan on 120hz.

I am going for 1080p 120hz monitor, need 2 graphic cards for that
