Eyefinity resolution

Hello,

I have a program that runs in 2560 x 1024. It is a developed app that sees my setting upon opening and asks to convert the whole project if it doesn't see that resolution.

So why...if my two ViewsonicVX2450wm's can do 1280 x 1024 each, can't the eyefinity running on the AMD Radeon HD 6950 1Gb do (grouped)2560 x 1024?

Catalyst control version 11.6

I don't get it.

Thank you gnomio and ubercake. The (1280x2) (not=) 2560 is the reason i bring it up. Sounds logical but no... The software (probably not just mine) still sees it as you running 1280x1024, your just running that res side by side. Make sense?

I took screen shots of the computer that is running a MATROX M9120 PCIe x16 and what you see is that it still shows two monitors, it's just that screen 1 is set on 2560x1024 and screen two is tiny and greyed out.

I'm now thinking it has something to do with Matrox's version of Eyefinity called "screen stretch" that maybe they decided that was a res that a user may choose.

ubercake - as per the eyefinity group creation, i did that. The resolutions that appear under the "grouped" res's are 1600x600, 3200x900, and 3840x1080.
I thought maybe it was because it sees my 1920x1080 on the way in so I made them 1280x1024 before making the group but it didn't solve the problem.

It's not a matter of trying to get enough realestate, but rather hitting the 2560x1024 to avoid having to alter pre-existing graphics on a program.

Thank you both for the reply, any other thoughts you have are appreciated.
