Phenom ii x4 960t

Hello,

im just wondering if ill be able to upgrade my current processor to phenom 960t?

My current system is:
Athlon II x3 425
Xfx ati radeon hd 6870 1gb
6gb ddr3 ram
1tb hdd
1x 250mm case fan
500wat corsair cx500 80+ (+12v 34a)

If I get phenom will I be able to use it? With my current spec?
because I dont wanna buy it if im not gunna be able to use it

What motherboard do you have. You forgot the most important thing.

Yeah, you need to provide the name and model # of your motherboard.

Its just one from my original pc, its an acer aspire x3400.
It does support that phenom, ive looked on there site
I was just wondering will it be ok with what ive got?
but im planning on buying another one after new year.
im getting a gigabyte one

Well, if Acer's site says you can, then you can.

Should you? That depends on you. The following benchmarks should help you decide. Note that the X3 425 and X4 960T are not listed as choices so I compared the X3 435 and the X4 965 BE which are very close to the CPUs you've mentioned.
