More about 6790 6790
  1. AFAIK 6970 only need 1 PCI-E connector (even the much more faster 6850 only use one). performance wise both should be similar to each other so if i were you i will take the XFX one since it was cheaper

Unfortunately the XFX one is out of stock but I remember reading a review that its a major disadvantage of the 6790 that it needs a psu with two pci e connectors.

The best thing about the XFX is it has a limited lifetime warranty, though the XFX requires 2 PCIe 6-pin connectors:

while the HIS (with a two-year warranty) requires only 1 PCIe connector:

Because of this, I would have expected the XFX to have some type of factory OC beyond that of the HIS. This is not the case. Both cards run at an 840MHz core clock.

The XFX either runs less efficiently or requires more power to keep it cooler.

As a result, I'd choose the HIS, because in two years (when the warranty's up), I'd be looking for a new video card anyhow.

If you're planning to run with this new card for a period longer than two years, though, you should get the XFX for the warranty when it's available again.
