So I've got an acer aspire v3-571 it's pretty much cheapest lappy I came across that ticked all the boxes. I wanted to chuck in an 8gb kit of RAM so I could take advantage of dual-channel (stock had 1 stick 4gb) and while I was at it I figured might aswell step it up to a 1600Mhz kit running 1.35v for better battery life (It might not make that big of a difference but hey why not right) anways I got a muskin kit off ebay, I used the ebay stores support IM to confirm it would be compatible with my laptop. So kit turns up I stick it in and almost immediately laptop turns off, no BSOD, just straight off then restarts. So I took out one stick and started to shuffle em through the 2 slots running memtest86+ on each individually which passed each time. I then populate both slots and run memtest again, this time 20% of the way through it gets an 'unexpected error' at which point the text on screen started to warp, couple characters replaced by other random ASCII characters. I ran windows memory diagnostic which tells me everything is fine.
So do I need to contact the RAM suppliers or ACER? Is there anything else I could do? I'm going to try a bios update just incase that helps but its my last option I dunno what else it could be but a hardware problem with either the lappy the ram
