Ok I have a Asus "M2N-e" Motherboard, it is not the SLI version.

Currently have a "64 x2 5000+"

I wanna upgrade the CPU. Since this newer Bios update, opens the door for alot of options.

I just get mixed results, when I research compatibility.

On official Asus site http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/list.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=m2n-e&p=1
It doesnt show support for "x4 phenom black editions"

But on http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/mb-ASUS/M2N-E.html
It does.

Then i find this also http://support.asus.com/cpusupport/detail.aspx?SLanguage=en&p=1&m=M2N-E&cpu=Phenom%20IIX4%20970%20(HDZ970FBK4DGM),3.5GHz,125W,rev.C3,SocketAM3,Quad-Core&pcb=ALL&sincebios=5001&memo=Due%20to%20Bios%20ROM%20size%20limitation%20remove%20LAN%20PXE%20ROM%20and%20change%20Crashfree3%20to%20Crashfree

Which is Asus, showing official support for a "phenom ii x4 970"
Which is not on the other list, from asus.

Makes no sense.

Ive heard that,if i go with 95w. I should be fine. But plenty of people have 955's in this MB, that are 125w chips.

Then this chip "960t" is a 95w. Which is what id like to buy http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=19-103-995&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&Pagesize=10&PurchaseMark=&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&VendorMark=&IsFeedbackTab=true&Page=4#scrollFullInfo

Im just stuck on what to believe.

Plan is to just upgrade CPU now for bf3. Then later buy a new motherboard. Then throw back in my 5000+ as a second PC.
I was set on a "phenom ii x4 925-c3-95w" but now im curious, if i can get a black edition. Or this "960t" for possible unlock for x6 with new motherboard.

I suppose if it wont work. Ill just cough up for a new MB sooner.

But any advice would be great.
