What Do I Upgrade Next (Nerd Face)

Well here are my current spec (I do a lot of video work so the quicker the renders the happier I am)

AMD Phenom II 1055t (No OC)
ASUS M4N75TD
Noctua nh-d14
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
GTX 460 Sonic Platinum
Corsair 750w

I was thinking about upgrading to a i7 2600k then overclocking maybe to 4GHz (Asus P8P67 PRO) then bung a SSD in there for a boot drive and main programs.

Would this be a good move?

I would overclock the 1055t and wait for ivy bridge. If you feel like spending money now then you can always get the SSD and just reuse everything else, except for the cpu/mobo of course. If you can't wait till till Q2 2012, then yes that would be your best solution.

4ghz is barely overclocking a 2600k--it wont even break a sweat at 4ghz

just built mine--straight to 4.6ghz just by upping the multiplier

then 10 minutes in the bios to get to 5ghz

i got the p8z68-v pro gen3 --pci-e 3.0 and ivy bridge compatible when it comes out

Cheers guys. I can't keep this PC anymore. Sometime it won't post. It never successfully comes out of sleep. A user on here said it was the BIOS and I don't know how to update them so the sooner I get the PC the better. So the i7 should do me for a few years correct and be quicker than the 1055t?

That's to much to spend for me on a Motherboard. I don't want the IVY B it is only 6% better or said to be. I will go with the next tick. or is it the tock? idk you know what I mean slightly tipsy after my one class of sherry (non-drinker here lol)
