Hi guys i don't no if im in the right category so sorry if im not.

I have a copy of crysis 2 installs fine and plays fine on ultra settings at 1280x1024
Accept when i start a new chapter the game lags like hell untill i go to the options and change the res to anything ie. 800x600 then back to 1280x1024 then it plays fine? what could be causing this any help would be nice.

System specs:
Intel Pentium E2180 (2.0) oc (2.8)
2GB DDR2 600 ish mhz i think
Ati Saphire Radion 4870 512

Ati drivers : 11.11
Windows xp pro sp3 2011 final

Also just a question i have the foxconn 945GZ7MC and people have said they have had 4GB of ram on the mobo but the manual and internet states that it cannot support more then 2GB could you confirm this because i dont wana go buy so more ram if its not going to work

Thanks

Probably 512MB VRAM isn't enough for Crysis 2 on ultra @ 1280x1024

I had a similar problem in Crysis Warhead with a 8800GTS 512MB at high details - almost every time a new chapter was loaded the fps dropped so I had to quit the game and restart it in order to fix the problem. I seem that both games do not clear all the VRAM when a new chapter is loaded and 512MB is too small. At least your solution is better than mine and the resolution change cause the GPU to clear the VRAM. By the way, the recommended card for Crysis 2 is GTX280 which has 1GB VRAM...
