Need help on upgrading my motherboard.

Approximate Purchase Date: In about a month.

Budget Range: ~150$ for the Mobo.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Modern gaming on Medium-High, internet, Microsoft office apps, Very little video editing

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No preference

Country of Origin: Philippines

Parts Preferences: P67/Z68

Overclocking: Maybe

SLI or Crossfire: Crossfire, maybe

Monitor Resolution: 1280X1024, planning to upgrade

Additional Comments: Is the i5 2310 overclockable?


Case: Thermaltake Commander

CPU: Intel i5 2310

GPU: Radeon 6770

PSU: Cooler Master 500w

Mobo: Intel DH61WW Motherboard

HDD: Hitachi 1TB 3.0/GBs 7200RPM - Planning to buy another, WD Black

Any tips on which p67/z68 motherboard I should buy? On a $150 budget, can spend more if needed

^+1 on that asrock board.

And to answer your question, no it's not. Only the K-series CPU's are overclockable. ( i5 2500k and i7 2600k )

However, the board does support the coming Ivy Bridge CPU's. A good time to get an overclockable CPU at that point if you want one. ( April:ish 2012 )

I could wait a bit (for more cash) and get this one instead: ASRock Extreme4 Gen3

Then i'll get one of the overclockable next gen Intel cores when they go out.
