Ive been out of the game for awhile now and my computer is really outdated. A lot has change since 2004 and need a little help here. Im really stoked about Bf3 coming out soon and cant forget rage and diablo 3. Would like to pull off high settings in BF3 if my budget of $1000 allows it.

Approximate Purchase Date: Anytime before BF3

Budget Range: $1000

System Usage from Most to Least Important:
Mostly gaming - BF3

Parts Not Required: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers, OS, case(xblade case from 4 years ago, will eventually upgrade), dvd/cd drive,

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: newegg, tigerdirect

Country of Origin: USA

Parts Preferences: Intel, nvidia 570(if it fits in budget), mobo to be ready for ivy bridge and pci 3.0

Overclocking:
of course!

SLI or Crossfire: Yes, sli in future

Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: would like ssd but i can get that eventually, not a must right now. very expensive and rather save up for 120g. so 1tb standard harddrive will do for now.

I hope your not going to use Windows XP.

You can build more than a "budget" pc for $1000, you can build an 'enthusiest" pc.

Start here:

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/overclock-cpu-ssd,3027.html

You could actually get it for cheaper than $1000 with different selections.

Personally I would pick different parts.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271 Cheaper and better Z68 with pci-e 3.0.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371044 $39.99 after rebate and promo code. More power and more efficient than that Corsair 600.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314 8GB for $1 more than the 4GB they listed + free 4gb flash drive.

I would also change the GTX460's to GTX560's for the same price.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121466 More efficient and faster than GTX460. HIGHLY overclockable. Free Batman game.

Not only will you be able to max BF3 you'll be able to max every game for the next couple years.

Deals don't last long though, so buy fast.

Add a cpu h/s and gtx 570 to this.

Seagate Barracuda ST31000524AS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

I would get a faster h/d myself. Like a WD Black edition or a Seagate, Hitachi or Samsung. Also look at the Cooler Master HAF 922 for $90 atm on newegg. If and when you decide to add another card to that build, you can add another 200mm fan to that case.

That Samsung you have up there is first rate and is the most recommended h/d on this site. Good choice.

Total: $1022.90

Somethings to note with this build:
1)- This Motherboard has poor CPU Overclocking since its almost all automatic.
2)- With the Push-Pull setup and Twin Frozr II Overclocking this system should be easy.
3)- You can Move anything you throw at this build in 1920*1080.

If someone chooses to use the UEFI bios than it will be almost "automatic" but that doesn' hold back the o/c, it just gives you too many volts more time than naught. Anyone on any board can use the boards bios to o/c instead of UEFI bios and the quick click o/c options. That board has the same o/c options as the extreme7 Z68 which hit over 5.0Ghz on a few reviews done on it.

As far as the gtx 560ti being able to max out games like BF3...that's questionable.

Do not need a case, but i like everything else in this setup. I think i may still stick with a 570 card and sli it later. i'd rather have a single good card for now and dual it later, rather than have already 2 graphic cards and have too toss them both
