AMD is trailing in the mobile arena, can they catch up to Nvidia?
The Tegra, ARM, and other brands are already established and are creating newer gpus that are integrated with the cpu, and are updating thier processors frequently while we have yet to see a finished and marketed AMD product.
Is it too late to be in the game or still early enough to catch up? Much like Symbian which is all but dead in the software arena, can AMD catch up in the hardware mobile processor/gpu arena?
AMD needs their own alternative to Optimus [I think they already do] but they also need to implement it toward their mid-end to high-end graphic cards. nVidia has optimus for 5xxm and up if iirc.
But the mobile arena doesnt call for a high end gpu, it needs a basic small, cool, and battery conserving gpu. Optimus is a DX11 gpugeared for laptops and netbooks but not small tablets or smart phones.... in this case AMD is truly behind.
