hello guys, i have just recently found out about the gigabyte z77x-ud5h, and i really like it because it has duel thunderbolt ports. I also want the asus p8z77-v deluxe motherboard because it has everything that i need. i will be getting the antec twelve hundred v3 case which has 6 fans. the problem i have is that I really want the fan xpert 2 software, but i want the gigabyte motherboard. does anybody have any suggestions on any alternative software for fan xpert 2? and can you use fan xpert 2 on different branded motherboards?

thanks everybody :pt1cable:

You can always get a fan controller. I dodn't know if you can get Fan Expert 2 unless you buy an Asus board.
Is the only reason that you like the Gigabyte board is because it has dual Thunderbolt ports? The Asus board does have the Thunderbolt and the main draw of the Thunderbolt is the daisy chain feature so that you don't actually need dual ports just one will do.

I would love to have a fan controller, but it doesn't have custom fan curves and basically all automatic operation. The reason I like the gigabyte is because it has duel thunderbolt, but the asus is an extra $100-$200 ad in card. The gigabyte is also a cheaper priced motherboard overall.

I looked at the motherboard that you posted in your original post and you must have put the wrong model number because the model number you posted does not have the Thunderbolt.

The one that does have the dual Thunderbolt ports is this model for $239.

The Asus board that comes with the Thunderbolt is $259 which is only $20 more and while it does just have the one thunderbolt port it does have the Fan Expert 2 that you like and want so this board does have everything that you want.
