My zebronics 9600gt idle temp is 55c

when i was playing call of duty black ops for just 2 hours my game began to lag automatically ..but it was working fine when i play the game for 1 or half an hour..i turned off my system and saw my gpu temp it was showing 55 c when the system was idle..help pls.

Is it dirty? Is it really hot in the room where the PC is? Are your PC's air intake ports dirty/dusty?

Any of those things can contribute to high idle temps. For starters, try removing the side-panel and cleaning the PC and card with a can of compressed air.
