P8Z77-V Pro (G.skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL) Wont Boot Dual Channel.

Hi,

I recently purchased an Asus P8Z77-V Pro Motherboard, and tried using my current G.skill F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL RAM with it, however, I cannot get it to boot when set in dual channel slot, though, boots fine when in single channel, first off, I thought that it may not be compatible, but would it even boot at all in that case?

But it clearly states on G.skill's website, that it is compatible (http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=355)

"XMP Ready for 1st, 2nd and 3rd Generation Intel Core Processors"

Qualified Motherboards List

ASUS MAXIMUS V GENE
ASUS MAXIMUS V Formula
ASUS SABERTOOTH Z77
ASUS P8Z77-V PREMIUM
ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE
ASUS P8Z77-V PRO

I tried updating the bios, however, failed to account to anything.

Anyone else have any ideas?

More about p8z77 skill 12800cl9d 8gbxl wont boot dual channel
  1. did you put the ram in slots 2 and 4? if you put them in slots 1 and 2, they are not going to work
  2. Yes, of course, they're the dual channel slots, I have them running in Slot 1 & 2 now, only because single channel was only why I could boot.
  3. Set the memory timings manually in BIOS. Maybe something goes wrong when mainboard automatically reads them from xmp.
  4. Ok, thanks, il check that out, sorry for the delay :D
