Motor City Online (MCO) is the first online-only racing, driving, and car customization game ever created! Coming in 2001, MCO harkens back to the peak of American car culture featuring your favorite classics and muscle cars from the 30's to the 70's. Buy cars, trade parts, own your garage, fix up old beaters, trick out your rod, challenge other racers online for fun, cash, or pink slips... it's all part of the ultimate hot rod community!

Q: What kind of cars will there be in MCO ?

There will be many cars in Motor City Online but not all will be available to everyone. When you first enter MCO, your choice of car will obviously be limited to the amount of cash you will have to spend on it.

As you gain in experience and begin to with races and so forth, your cash amount will grow as will the number of cars in your inventory. Not only will you be able to buy a newer, faster cars at a dealship or at auction but you will be able to trade cars with other players.

Question: Why do I have to pay a monthly fee to play MCO ?

Online-only games are much different from single player games in regards to what happens after the game ships. There is a full time development team that will be constantly updating the game with new features to make game play more exciting even after Motor City Online ships. There are multiple servers available for the players to choose from and more will be added as needed. An expanded support (game, tech, and accounts) team will be on staff to address questions and issues in an expedient manner. There is a full time Quality Assurance team to test bug fixes and new features. And a network team is available to take care of any connectivity or server issues that occur to minimize any downtime.

The end result is a fun environment in Motor City Online for the player, and a game that will grow with new content and features.

Question: What are the benefits of being involved in a club?

The benefits you receive of being involved in a club really depend on the club that you join, and what its Founder and Officers put the most effort into. If you are in a club that spends a lot of time racing in Turf Wars, you may get notoriety by association. If you are in an active car-building club, you may receive extra money or special car parts from the club Officers so that you can build up your car.

There are many ways in which clubs will contribute to the overall Motor City experience, so what you get out of it is really up to you and your buddies.

All I can say is that this game's gonna ROCK. It is supposed to be released sometime this fall. This game is being developed by EA games so you can expect graphics as good as in NFS - Porsche Unleashed, if not better. I agree with the monthly fee idea, i don't think too many people will want to pay a monthly fee. Although the game sounds pretty cool. An excellent idea. I would like to see newer cars in there also. I think it is kind of dumb they limited it to the 30-70's time period. Cars have only gotten better since then, not to mention all the cool exotic cars out there now.

I have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of Motor City. I didn't know there was a fee for it though. But I'm sure you can still play w/o paying. Just not on-line. Oh well, depends on how much it is.

Well, Motor City Online is about American musclecars that's why there are no imports or modern cars. I personnally think that it is what makes this game so appealing.

As for the monthly fee, it is to pay the full time development team working on new cars, tracks, features (cops on street racing and many other cool ideas) and the technical support staff that will resolve your issues faster than ever (according to EA  )

BTW, some comments on the graphics and sound effects quality would be much appreciated. Thanks to the beta testers for their great work so far.

The sounds and graphics are amazing. But the only gripe I have so far is the handling.... too much like the other 5 sharp corners and floring out of them doesnt quite make the ass come loose.... they should use some of the handling aspects from the first one you could spin out and do donuts really easy. I play at 1280x1024x32 and I have ADSL so it runs smooth.... The options for the cars are pretty cool.. I got fuzzy dice tinted windows paint job wheely bars and even a breather on the hood with a 6 pack

... In conclusion way cool, but there are many bugs to work out.. got any more questions just ask.

woah....cool, i am really anxious to buy the game.
so you could actually play in a "career" like mode and buy'sell and modify cars right!and is it true that at any new engine piece in the car you could tell the difference from the car noise???!!
but what about the bugs you were talking about, like what?
