I got the gigabyte fx-990FXA motherboard for christmas paired with this ram :

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231314

And i wanted to get the new AMD FX-8120 processor to put in it:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103961

Now, i looked up the motherboard support for ram and this ram is listed there. So i know i'm in the clear there. But on the ram package it only states its usable with intel boards and amd am3 socket cpu's. so.. my question is, if i do decide to go with the fx-8120 processor, do i have to get different ram since its an am3+ socket cpu? or is the ram still ok to use?

It will work perfectly fine with the fx processor and the motherboard you chose, bulldozers support upto ddr3 1866, but that motherboard will takr upto 2000mhz modules, so you may be able to even up the ram frequency via overclocking if it's good stuff.

I know the mhz compatibility, im just worried about the ram not working properly with the AM3+ chip cause the ram says it is only compatible with AM3 chips, not AM3+. But is that something that will cause it not to function properly? should the ram sync up fine with the CPU?
