So I am nearly there, and I can just feel it. I need this to work! Anyway I love this site it seems to collect lots of good reads, reviews, and everything. Long time reader, first time poster. My Dell XPS 8300 couldn't keep my components cool enough for what my school has me doing right now. Anyway I upgraded to a CM storm scout, and boosted my GPU from 6670 to a 7950 Gigabyte and also got a new Seasonic M12 750w. Only thing really left from the XPS 8300 is the mobo. Which by the way is pretty crappy and I wish I would've changed it out too. But, here I am I need it work for my school projects upcoming. So my problem is that I have everything connect as it should be but not dell boot screen comes up, ya know the one with f2 and f12 options. Everything in setup is good, and in the options everything but diagnostic goes through.
When I just let it go as normal i gets to a blank black screen with nothing but a type cursor on it. I have switched around the two usb connects that come with the CM storm scout to the three different mobo usb pin connectors a bunch already.
I hope someone can think of something, I have high hopes TH community! You guys rock!
P.S. I am aware of the front panel config that I have to use with the stupid mobo here, so that is also already correct. Thanks in advance.
With all this changing around your boot sequence may have gotten set back to default and the sata mode as well. If you can get into the bios you can set the boot sequence to the drive with the OS on it and if you had the sata mode changed then you can set it to what you changed it to. Some people will change it to AHCI especially if they have a SSD. If you had never changed it then no problem just check the boot sequence.
