SATA 2 ports failing

I have a EVGA 680i SLI motherboard I bought brand new and over the last year two of the six SATA 2 ports have failed. If any others fail I have one empty healthy port remaining to used. Being a 5 year old motherboard is this a failure pattern where I can likely expect the other SATA 2 ports to fail soon?
