Hello everyone,

I am currently on my first build and right before installing the cpu down onto the motherboard I noticed the pins were bent. I know very little about computers and have always heard about bent pins being a "BAD" thing. The thing is that half the pins look like they are perfectly bent at a 45 degree angle leaning towards one side, and the other half leaning towards the other side. My question is does this sound like it is right, or are the pins supposed to be perfectly vertical? There are no weirdly or oddly bent pins they are all perfectly bent with the same exact angle as i mentioned before. Thanks

if your looking ast them from 2-5 inches away they should all look like this image minus the bad pins.

newer mb the pins on intel not un and down. the only real way to see a bent pin is with a high end photo of the slot of a good magnifire lens.

The pins are not really pins in the sense that your thinking and from your description those pins are fine and they are the way they are supposed to be. If you see one or two that are not the way the others are then you have bent pins. You do want to be very careful when you put the cpu into the socket becayse that is when the cpu socket can be damaged. You want to make sure that you lower it straight down and that the notches are lined up. Check and double check the process before you start so that you know what your doing as you do it.
