I am looking to build a gaming pc (rough spec of i5 2500k (P68/Z68 chipset), 8Gig RAM 1600,2 x Radeon HD 6950 2 GB. The fact that this graphics setup will run very well at 2560x1600 resolution led me to consider the Dell UltraSharp U3011 as the monitor. I am aware that 2560x1600 resolution can be transmitted through Dual DVI/HDMI/Display Port connections. However, can anyone tell me which cable will provide the highest in-game Frames Per Second? My concern is that the WQXGA resolution is pushing certain cable technologies and while they may support it, for gaming purposes, some cable types are preferable to others. It would be a shame to limit the hardware potential due to a cable choice.

Type of games i will be playing:
WoW, StarCraft II, Diablo III

Neither cable format is going to allow or disallow more frames/sec, as you would be limited to viewing roughly 60 frames/sec anyway....

The Dual DVI will likely allow the best image quality at that resolution....
