Hello, how to change ram on HP Pavillion dv5

For others the HP Pavilion dv5 Series is a notebook. In this PDF manual go to page 60 -> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01550108.pdf remove the single Phillips screw to expose the compartment, there's (2) tabs on either side of the SODIMM module and spread them apart and lift out the RAM module.

The notebook accepts (2x2GB) or (2x4GB) of PC2-6400 DDR2-800 SO-DIMM memory depending on the models I searched.

So the safest is to look up your specific model, but if the above link is simular to your configuration then 8GB should work if needed. Keep in mind >4GB or RAM requires a 64-bit OS.
