how can i recognize southern bridge and northern bridge in laptop motherboard as i want to troubleshoot my costumers laptop.

If you could get a diagram of the motherboard layout or a picture of what it looks like. Open it up and see what motherboard is being used and then do a Google search.
Other than that I would think that the N.B. would be close to the cpu so you could see the tracings on the board and then the N.B. chip would have tracings going to the Pci-e slot.
