I have read so many posts trying to find a reliable answer for this question, but am stumped... :??:

Simply put, can a PCI-E 3.0 video card be used and installed on a ASUS Rampage II Extreme motherboard, running an Intel i7 920 @ 2.67ghz?

Ive read that yes, it is possible, but have also read that no, it isn't. The ASUS Rampage II Extreme is only PCI-E 2.0 compliant, and I am looking at upgrading my video card to a PCI-E 3.0.

Any help whatsoever will be appreciated!

All video cards that have come out with the Pci-e 3.0 capability are Pci-e 2.0 backwards compatable. So yes you most certianly can use the card on that motherboard.
