Hello peoples. I'll start off by saying that web research and yahoo answers isn't getting me very far. Anyway, I'm planning on building my own PC. Now, I need a new PC anyway but the one I'm building is for gaming. I'm not a huge PC gamer thoguh. I will only be playing Minecraft, Perfect World International and the new, Starwars The Old Republic. Now, as far as my budget goes... it's $700 if my old PC sells for the targeted $150. If not at that, then $100. And lastly, sad as it is, If it doesn't sell at all my budget will be $550(Another post will be made for this). BUT TO AVOID SIDE CONVERSATION... lets stick with $700. I don't need a monitor, keyboard or mouse while the OS I know, will be Windows 7 64bit. I'd prefer AMD CPUs and Radeon GPUs. Plus I honestly doubt I'll be needing a TB of memory since those will be the only games
I'm ganna be playing so I was going to stick with 500gb. The whole thing is to get the BEST rig possible for my money.
So just let me know if I forgot anything and I appreciate the help!

OH! And one last thing these are the pre-built ones I'm looking at:

You can get a better computer for the same price if your feel comfortable building it yourself.

Also do you know what resolution your monitor is so we can decide what gfx card you will need

No that's why I said I was building it myself but I gave prebuilt options as well to compare to. Oh and ScrewySqrl, I can get the Seaget 500gb for about $45 or something like it at my local store. Plus I can get a 500w for the same price and a better GFX Card. Oh and yes sorry flyboy86 I'm not sure how. :(

what brand of 500W for $39.99. beware fireworks factories!

the $66.48 is the seagate 1 TB HDD (normally $60) plus a $20 DVD player.

What GFX card is better than a 6850 for $150 at your local store?

Now if the local store is a microcenter, you might be competitive

Oh I apologize. I've got a migraine and I didn't read that correctly. The PSU is an Antec Basic. Honestly I haven't done any research on it so...

Antec Basiqs are OK, but a little old. the Corsair 430w will have about the same amperage on the 12v line. The Corsair is a little better in its internal components and 80+ certified.

Can it really support this build? While stable?

yes.

the Hd6850 needs 22 amps on the 12v rail for the whole system, the Corsair 430W has 28amps.

the solo 6850 draws 246W total

Personally, I don't like the HDD or the GFX Card. And the motherboard is a lil... well, is it worth it in anyones opinion?? Plus the case... I'm sure I can find something just fine for less and lastly the PSU.... sounds good i suppose so I'll look into it just to be sure.

the build I posted has a better GPU, More RAM in exchange for a motherboard with fewer bells and whistles (the H61M/U3S3 lacks RAID, SLI/Crossfire and overclock.)

Yeah actually, really, I could do without the extra things I mean 8GB will be fine same with the CPU if anything I might get two GFX Card but I highly doubt it. And sorry I'm a bit of a nut about this and I suppose it would be a.... "stupid" idea to ask this type of question to the person who sent me a build. But, is this just abou the best thing I can do for the budget? (As far as I can see you have the best answer)

I like to think so. I will note the sale on the 2500 has passed and it is back to $209.99.. so add $15 to keep the 2500, or subtract $5 and get a 2400.

or you could get this combo, which adds only $5 to the price (replacing CPU & RAM):
