Hi.

I've taken parts from 3 older (non-functioning) computers and mashed them into one that works, just for kicks.

Here are the current specs:

CPU : Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.4 Ghz
MOBO : ASUS P4S-533 ATX
RAM : 768MB PC-2100 DDR SDRAM (Mobo supports 3 sticks, I currently have one 256MB and one 512MB installed)
GPU: nVidia MX-400 64MB AGP
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 40GB
PSU: APEVIA ATX-TL450W
Case: APEVIA X-Trooper Jr Case w/ Side Window
(http://www.apevia.com/ProductsInfo.asp?KEY=X-TRPJR-BK/450)
OS: Windows XP SP3 32-bit
Monitor : 18.5" @ 1366x768 resolution

The computer is running decently atm, but it is still a little crap box o_O. I was wondering if it was possible to make it any better or faster with the extra parts I currently have... Any way I can fill up that last slot of RAM? AGP video card upgrade? Anyway I could integrate more of the components into the case?

The spare parts (still functional) which I have left over are...

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 @ 2.0GHz
RAM: 512MB DDR2 RAM
GPU: XFX 9600GSO 512MB PCI-EXPRESS 2.0
HDD: Quantum 6.4GB HDD
CD: Slim CD Drive
FDD: Slim Floppy Drive
Case: Small form factor uATX
PSU: 160W from the small form factor

**MOBO: I think I am just missing a microATX mobo which supports socket 478 w/ DDR2 ram & PCI-E slots and I could have another working computer? LOL

I know this is a dumb idea, but it's for my mom who only uses it for office + internet browsing anyway and she's okay with it so far. I am looking to spend like max $20 (LOLx2) which I don't think is possible... but I thought I should ask around just 'cause you guys are better than I.

Thanks for allowing me to waste your time u_u"

Haha thanks, I knew eBay would come up. But seriously, I don't think a second PC is actually a viable option... 160W PSU ? LOL

Maybe I'll search for some RAM / GPU .... but it costs so much for such old tech .... wtf? =="

Is eBay the cheapest place to pick up old tech? It seems pretty pricey to buy ancient artifacts such as these : O
