You need to check inside your computer to see whether you need a PCI card, PCIe x16, or PCIe x1.

PCI looks like this:


The longest one here is PCIe x16, and the shortest is PCIe x1:

Have you considered a USB wireless receiver? I have one in my desktop and it has never failed me.
