Flashing bios on new Foxconn OEM MB MCP-61SM2MA-rs2h

Here we go...After suffering from static discharge hit (lightning), repairing computer by replacing MB. AMD 64 x2 4200+, 2 gig ram. $ was an issue!!! Received MB, researched and was designed for Emachine/Gateway. Only difference I have found between OEM and retail board is OEM has 2 RAM slots, Retail has 4. Current Bios will handle 4 gig ram (ran Award Diag prog). It does appear the board was never installed in a system. Current bios options worthless. I am wanting to see if it is possible to go ahead and flash the bios with Foxconn retail updates? There are no updates for the Bios on Gateway/Emachine sites. I do know the issues of normally flashing OEM bios vs Retail, but there is no indications in bios that Gateway ever touched it for a install.
