Memory Question

Solution

My mistake. When i copy pasted Asus P8Z77 -V Deluxe on newegg it came up with Asus P8Z77 -I Deluxe which only supports 16GB. I didn't catch the change when i searched.

Link i was looking at :p

*edit On the link you posted. therse a memory/device support tab. Click that. Go to download from global dlm. Take a look at that pdf. It shows all the supported memory for your Mobo. I would stick to something off of that list because it's been tested to work with your mobo :).

Then you should be good to go ;)

Will it fit? Sure.
BUT
Your mobo only supports 16 GB of mem.
You have 32 GB linked there.
Also... I'd go with Corsair, Gskill for a brand.
And last.. What OS are you going to run? Depending on the OS there is a mem size restriction there as well.

Also make sure you have at least Windows 7 Professional.

Heres a quick breakdown of what each version supports.

Version Limit on x86 (32 bit) Limit on x64
Wind 7 Ultimate 4GB 192GB
Wind 7 Enterprise 4GB 192GB
Wind 7 Professional 4GB 192GB
Wind 7 Home Ultimate 4GB 16GB
Wind 7 Home Basic 4GB 8GB

* The 4GB is all 32 bit. The 192, 16 and 8 GB are all 64 bit values.

Those will work. But... Check this out. This comes straight from your MOBO's QVL (Qualified Vendor List) Refer back to it from the link you posted for your mobo. And it will tell you what it will run as. Just match the #'s. F3-19200CL10Q-32GBZHD is the one off your g skill you selected.

It says:

* The 2400Mhz memory modules above are supported by this motherboard; however, the actual frequency support varied depending on the O.C. margin of the installed CPU.
* Due to Intel® 2nd generation processors' behavior, DDR3 2200 and above/2000/1800 MHz memory module will run at DDR3 2133/1866/1600 MHz frequency as default.

So it won't run at 2400 Mhz as default.

Yes it's 3rd generation.

Here's what i recommend. The memory you linked is 1.65 volt and over volted. This is going to cause you to have to change settings in the bios to overvolt the memory from 1.5v to 1.65v which is going to over volt your cpu as well and void your warranty. Look for 1.5v memory. And in my opinion 1600 mhz is more then enough. The difference between 2400 and 1600 mhz you will most likely only see a difference on benchmarks. (unless your doing heavy heavy video editing or something along those lines) In which case if you are and want a higher clocked memory they are still out there but stick with the 1.5v.

Here is some corsair 1600mhz 1.5v from your Mobo's list.

It's half the price of the other memory and you wont' run into issues.
It's Corsair.. I prefer Crucial or G skill i just used this as an example because i didn't see a 32 gb kit off hand on the list.
