Crysis PROBLEM !

Hi Guys . I have Ran all games on my New Rig Very very smoothly But Crysis 1 & warhead !!!

They Run Great Maxedout when i look Close Distance But very farDistance Game Goes Slower ! it Doesnt Lag ,it just drop to something like 25 Fps which is not that Playable !

Crysis 1 , in the First light when i look down the hill to The Beach & mountain infront of me , that happends ( 25 FPS ) , it happens Specialy in the Town ( which i should Rescue that Civilian Female Hostage ( CIA Agent ) with Phsyco ! ) !

Crysis Warhead : in the End of level 1 ( call me Ishmael ) at Beach With Tons of enemy Units!

There 4 options : 1).Bottleneck 2).Vga is Not That Strong to render it 3). Too many Frames COme in same time without being Managed !
4).CPU is Little Weak for Those Parts & process goes little Slower

I tried both On XP & 7 , 32 bit & 64 bit , i tried Lowering Res From 1440x900 TO lowest ! i tried High & medium Setings ! But High Setings with AA off & that LOW res is nt THat hard For my Hardwares to render that little Part ! REST OF GAMES RUN VERY SMOOTH ! Atleast 50 FPS or more , crysi 2 Ran at 75 FPS

Ram: 2x2GB DDR3 1333MHz SUpertalent
VGA: MSI twinfrozr II ATI 6870 HD 1gb ( 920mHZ Default ) Catalyst 11.6 Updated !
HDD: Hitachi 500GB , 7200RPM , 16MB Buffer
PSU: Green 685Watt REAL POWER ! 50A , 80+ , Crossfire SLi Ready , Gaming Series
CASE: Gaming X3 Cool Enough !!!

If not Very high , then why it Happens on HIGH & medium Setings ? CPU ? VGA ? what ?

& which Upgrade is best ? I only need to make does Parts Run at 40 FPS atleast !
New CPU (i5 2400 ) ? NEW VGA ? Crossfire ? I cant OC so please Dont Suggest that one !

You should be fine as long as you don't attempt it at Directx 11. When Crysis 2 released, benchmarks show it's lenient on GPUs. However, the patch that offers Directx 11.. yeah don't try that because you will only get 50-60 fps with SLI 580 or crossfire 6970.

You Mean that there is No Bottleneck & all that i am geting Is Normal ? But I tought Its not that hard ! if my Hardwares Could Handle all of the games then why they Cant Handle that Part of Crysis EVEN on High Setings or medium ?

I saw That Succesfull ATI Crossfire with intel i5 ( Not Amd because AMD Cant Handle Crossfire That Well ) COuld Give more than 60 FPS in Crysis at Max Setings even with Higher res ! even with Single 6870 + i5 I saw Great Videos ! atleast 40 FPS in my Condition not 25FPS , !

I think Better CPU like i5 2400 which so stronger than my Current CPu , can make a Huge Difference at least 20 FPS ! or WHat ? Buying new 6950 is Better option ?

I cant Crossfire Because I have Phenom 955 BE which will bottleneck it !

So what can I do ?

The CPU won't make a 20Fps difference, it's probably just dipping because it has more to render, if it really bothers you that much, just lower some settings such as shader quality or AA. 25Fps is by no means playable as Crysis is playable at 20Fps(Minimum),

I recall having the same FPS drops when I reached those locations. When I went crossfire, those problems went away, or at least it was less of a problem. The use of the binoculars at those locations was rough with a single GPU, but it was usually just for a few seconds, then it ran fine.

Look AT your CPu , its i7 920 @ 4.0Ghz . i7 920 @ Default acts slower than Phenom 955 BE In Crossfire but When its 4.0Ghz It Can go so high , your Crossfire Worked Because your Using OCed Strong INTEL cpu ! not Like ME , AMD always Had Problem with CF !

THats why i donno what to do ! & other Answer : i Tried Medium setings , aa Off , high Setings , lowest Res ! !!! BUT NO CHANGE ! FAR DISTANCE STILL BOTHER ME !

^If you turn down the details/resolution etc, and see no change in performance, then you have a CPU bottleneck. simple as that.

When I played Crysis, I didn't have it at 4.0Ghz, but I did play it at 3.5Ghz.

Anyways, there is one other possibility. Have you looked at GPU-Z and made sure that the bus interface is at x16 or x8? Sometimes if they aren't fully seated, or the slot is dirty, it can run at x4 or x1 which can similar results. It's not likely, but worth checking.

It is Running @ 16 ! But I will Check if Slot If Dirty or not . But WHy MY CPu bottelencks ? it SHouldnt Bottleneck single VGA ! its QUAD CORE @ 3.2GHZ . it bottlenecks because its AMD ?

OK so if i am geting bottleneck , will i5 2400 be Good Solution ?

Every game is different and don't bother cleaning the slot if it's at 16x already, that is what you wanted. Is a couple moments in 1 game worth spending all that money?

Its a problem with all fps shooters in general although crysis actually has a less of this problem.BFBC2 was constantly going to 20 fps when I aimed down my sights of each gun.Just ignore the problem and get immersed in the game.I remember when I play crysis I get so much involved in its beauty that I just can't comprehend any lag.lol

Thats Why I cant Enjoy the Game , i realy like it , I get close to enjoy its Nice Gameplay but When i move mouse that lag Makes me so ...... oh ok

MY SECOND problem , its right that all of my games run great on xp , but i dont want to use XP any more ! i need to play games on 7 , & some Games Like Dead Rising 2 lags a Bit on 7 ! but on XP ITS SMOOTH AS BUTTER !hehe

SO NOW HOW TO SOLVE THAT ONE ?CPU ? VGA ? i feel i5 2400 can Bring to much difference , games are Tasks & codes that Should be Performd & procecced ! so how can i5 2400 which is as strong as i7 970 , Perform as Same As Mine ?

if it was smooth on xp but not on windows 7 then i say you have a RAM issue. Windows 7 uses much more ram. Also win7 runs crysis in dx10 mode where xp is dx9 only. You can force crysis to run in dx9 mode for a great performance boost with no noticeable impact on image quality. I highly reccommend this. right click on the crysis icon and select run in dx9 mode.

OH haha I tried it too but 0% Difference . i tired it on Dead Rising 2 ( little Difference )

What Now ram issue ? oh come On . CPU bottleneck , dirty PCI slot , Ram Issue .

Listen , i tired XP , 7 32bit & 7 64Bit & NO DIFFERENCE ! REALY , EVEN DX9 Mode on 7 in the End of the Icon's Target I made sure i added space ! it Worked but with no difference . If u play Crysis on my Rig u will Notice that its Fast enough , but Some times It Slowdowns For No reason !

games slower on 7only for One reason , DX10 , DX 9 doesnt work as fast as XP native DX9 , because 7 is Nativly DX10 !!! no matter if its Cernel is Stronger than XP , if its Smarter or Stronger than XP !

I dont Know 2 things , why some games like Dead Rising 2 should Run slower on 7 ( some Parts of Game Only , heavy parts !) , i believe my Hardwares are Stronger than what Does games need to run on 7 ! I cant Believe i still got Lag from Crysis or Games on 7 , even Crysis with Lowest res , on XP , with high setings with no aa , runs slow on mentioned Parts ! I dont Know what else i can Upgrade ! its already a Expensive Gaming SYSTEM !

Ram Is new & Clean of ANy problems ! its 1333Mhz DDR3 ram , 2x2Gb on right SLots ! I heard AMd CPu s have Some Bottlenecking Issues , so if it is , Intel i5 2400 Gonna Be great Improvement ! but In real they dont have that much of a difference in games , Crysis needs Strong VGA not MOnster CPu ! EVEN GTA EFLC run FAST & smooth ! Saints row 2 ( only Shadows Off ) ran VEry Smooth ! I cant Believe 6870 Cant Handle Crysis 1 ? Specialy with my Setings !

now for the record i have had BAD experiences with crytek products from the word GO
When it came to crysis there was no differences Crysis out of the box barely ran al all , lockups choppy freezing on any settings. It was found the game has memory leaks and bad programming. I waited for the updates and installed as soon as they showed up. then a decision from crytek sent me up the rope . they stated That they would no longer be updating Crysis because they are too busy with the next game ( doesnt that make you feel great?) Then the next insult was that Warhead would be built to run on XO as well as Vista or 7 . PLUS the fixes for crysis would be in Warhead .. now i have been in the automotive business for over 49 years , Computers started as a hobby 35 years ago. When a line of BS is being stamped at you . you know it.
I bought warhead Installed did the appropriate updates and the fun began . Now both games are meant to run in 64 bit . With warhead added to the Mix , warhead runs at 64 bit . However crysis Does not. it absolutely refuses to open or run a crash is what you get . So much for crytek fixes.
if anyone has used played or owned the game Far cry (1) the game is pretty much the same as crysis and warhead . the problems were also the exact same. choppy , stalls crashes . When you write to EA ( the distributor) they have the lamest excuses of all) we cannot duplicate . then its Uninstall and re-install the game . by the time you have uninstalled and reinstalled the game so many times EA no longer allows you to play because you have exceeded the number of allowed installs . then you have to call EA and with an attitude have them send you download links for both Games with new unlimited installs . By the way EA has now as had before any idea how to fix the game. Please do not blame your machine , the last thing your having trouible with is your system . Crytek themselves allows No technical Support Period. what i have for a system now is what it took to get the game to run at 38 frames per second smoothly and without crashes . along with some tweaks of system memory allocations . If you want to jusge your system never use a crytek Game to do it. .. Anyone getting help from EA and geting no where i can compare notes with you i have saved every single tech support page they sent me . not one of their "fixes" was worth a dam . every single game crytek makes they start patting themselves on the back with all these awards . I have not been able to verify any REAL World awards for crytek . Real impressive games usually have a space on the televised on cable Channels award telvised hand outs . Crytek didnt even get a mention . or an award. whatever awards they are geting is from some nondescript backyard flea market test facility .I now play crysis in god mode , with speed doubled with no time limit , weapons that never run out of ammo or need to be reloaded . all cheats are the easiest thing to put in . That way all frustrations in Far cry (1) crysis and warhead are easier to move along with .. I wanted to let you know i have a socket 775 processor and the GTX295 card . IF anyone spews bottlenecks or processor issues as an excuse they are flat out liars . Crysis , warhead Now run at approx 38 to 42 FPS all settings in the nVidia Control panel are set to highest , the settings in the game are also set to the absolute highest
