Upgrading the xps 7100

I recently got a dell xps 7100 and i am upgrading it by getting a new PSU and the xfx 6870 Graphics Card but the only problem is i dont think that the graphics card will fit in the case... i was wondering if anyone has put a 6870 in an xps 7100 mid tower case and had it fit and i was also wondering what cases i could buy that the xps 7100 would be able to go into so that i would have that space for the graphics card. Thanks!

  1. They sold it with a 5870 , same size card , no ?

It's a mATX system, any ATX case will do.
  2. it should fit, the 6870 isn't a really big card. but you might want to measure it.
  3. well the 6870 is nearly 10 inches and my card is like half that..
  4. The Dell Studio XPS 7100 comes with an ATI Radeon HD 5870 graphics card.

A reference Radeon HD 5870 is 11.1 inches in length and it fit in that case.

The AMD Radeon HD 6870 is only 9.75 inches in length so it should be an easier fit.
  5. i got mine when it didnt come with that graphics card the one mine has is an Integrated ATI radeon HD 4200 which is not even close to that size
