Dud chip?

If I bump the voltage past 1.4 on my 8150 and run Prime95 (even on stock speeds) it will freeze up. Does my chip just suck? I have a Crosshair V mobo and an 850 watt PSU. I tested out another psu and the same thing happened with the freeze.

Why are you pushing the voltage what is your frequency at? The problem is your pushing your voltage and it's crashing, if your not careful your going to burn out the motherboard, the CPU or both.

What cooler? If your cooler isn't good enough then your cpu will overheat at those voltage
