Recent driver update, Suddenly CPU limited?

Hi,
I just updated to the latest 11.7 drivers, and previously in my experience, both my 6870s would max out while playing Crysis. Now, I occasionally pull around 70-80% which means that the average fps can sometimes be shamefully low. (for my system in comparison to previously) The update did however fix some microstuttering issues, so I do plan to continue to use it. Specs below. Any ideas as to why this is happening? (all temps are normal, in case anyone is wondering)

Intel I5 2500k @ 4.2ghz
XFX HD6870 xfire
Asus Sabertooth P67 Rev 3.0 w/ bios 1850
750w kingwin lazer
8gb Corsair vengeance 1600mhz

Update: It appears that this occurs in most games, it's more noticable with AI around which points even more toward a cpu bottleneck.
