Possibly. you need to look at your notebook manufacturers specifications page for your notebook, where it should state, somewhere in the documentation, what processors are supported by your notebooks motherboard.

i wonder why you'd need to put a single core cpu (will most likely lower performance) in place of a dual core.
the procedure needs expertise and only someone with experience should handle that task.
check with manufacturer website for compatible cpus or check your manual.
