So right now I have an eMachines ET1161-07 computer. Has done well for me in the 3-4 years I've had it.
A year or two ago I upgraded to a 400w PSU and a Radeon 5670. The card isn't holding up too well with some of the games I'm playing so I'm now looking to upgrade.
I'm planning on going with a Saphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit and a Antec 550w PSU.
My only concerns here is it even worth the graphics upgrade with the current CPU and Memory I have in the computer?
Specs for CPU and Memory:
CPU: AMD Athlon™ X2 dual-core processor 4050e (Operates at 2.1GHz, 1024KB L2 cache)
Memory: 3072MB DDR2 dual-channel capable (3 × 1024MB). Expandable to 8GB. 4 DDR2 slots (total), 1 DDR2 slot (available)
Will these components still hold me back even after a powerful graphics card upgrade?
